WHO WE ARE:
Diamond Bar Pony Baseball is a volunteer run, non-profit organization serving the communities of Diamond Bar, Phillips Ranch, Pomona, Walnut and all surrounding local cities.  Any child can play here during the regular season. We are a recreational baseball league, meaning that every child that signs up will get the chance to play in the field and bat at each game.

HISTORY:
Diamond Bar is rich in youth baseball history. In the early 1960’s, the first ball  constructed. It was a single field located on the east side of South Diamond Bar Blvd., very near Shadow Canyon Dr. and was home to the Diamond Bar Little League. By 1968, Diamond Bar Little League had organized into 3 divisions with 18 teams and257 players ages 9 to 12 years old. Due to the large number of teams, Minor league games were played at nearby Evergreen Elementary School. At the conclusion of the 1968 season, Diamond Bar Little League moved to the Sunset Crossing location where three fields were constructed. This ambitious construction project was led by Mr. Marty Stevens and with the assistance of numerous volunteer parents, completed construction in time for Opening Day of the 1969 season. Mr. Stevens was a committed Board Member volunteer for numerous years and was employed as a Civil Engineer for the County of Los Angeles. Upon the project’s completion, Mr. Stevens deeded the land to the Diamond Bar Little League so that the communities’ children would always have a place to play baseball. And play they have. more than a half century, Stevens Field has hosted more than 12,000 players. Marty would be very proud. In 1969, Diamond Bar Little League added a T-Ball division, fielding 4 teams and 60players under the ages 7 to 8 years old. 1970 would see Diamond Bar Little League adda Senior League Division with 4 teams and 56 players age 13-15 years old. Senior Division games were initially played at Lorbeer Junior High School and moved to Stevens Field several years later. In 1998, Diamond Bar’s Senior Division All Stars achieved the pinnacle of success by winning the Senior Division World Series title.2009 was a year of transition for Diamond Bar baseball as the Board of Directors voted to align with Pony Baseball to provide increased opportunities for the players. The Pony format allows for competitive baseball beginning at age 7 with field set up appropriate to their physical abilities. The Board recognized that playing baseball at an earlier age enhances the players opportunity to develop their skills much faster and better prepares them for competitive play as they advance to the high school level and beyond. Diamond Bar Pony baseball continues to be a competitive force, winning numerous division and regional titles and feeding high caliber ball players into local high schools. Our baseball program can boast that 2 alumni have gone on to win Major League Baseball’s coveted title of World Series Champions. Another with the title of College World Series Champion. Many alumni have gone on to outstanding High School, Collegiate and MLB Minor League careers.2019 marked the 50TH anniversary of Stevens Field. It has hosted more than 1,400 ballgames and serves as a Field of Dreams for countless young players and parents past, present and future.
