WELCOME
Are you interested in serving as a head coach for one of our baseball teams? We are always looking for more head coaches and you do not need to have a child enrolled in a DBPB program nor do we require previous experience in order to apply to be a head coach. Thank you for your willingness to volunteer in this capacity. Our coaches really are the backbone of our league and without your help we would not be able to offer as many kids the opportunity to experience the sport of baseball and all the great and fun memories it brings.
Head coach application process
- Submit your volunteer application via our applications page
- DBPB board will review all applications and select head coaches for each division prior to the start of each season
- Pass your background check and Live Scan
Requirements & responsibilities of a head coach
Acknowledge and sign our code of conduct and disciplinary policy
Submit and pass a background check and Live Scan
Develop and lead team practices
Create the game day position assignments and batting order
Attend coaches meetings, team meetings, player evaluations, and player drafts
Prep fields before and after practices/games
While previous experience can be helpful, it is not required
Responsibilities of DBPB to our head coaches
Promptly communicate any updates to practice or game schedules
Offer coaching and training resources
Provide encouragement and guidance to help you become the best coach possible
Benefits of being a head coach
Snack shack fee automatically reimbursed four weeks after opening day. You do not need to serve a volunteer shift to receive this refund but you must still be serving as a head coach at the time the refund is issued.
$50 head coach refund. If you serve as a head coach and have a child registered with DBPB, we will refund a total of $50 from their registration fee. This refund can only be applied once per family per season. $25 will be refunded the week after opening day and the second $25 will be refunded during the fourth week after opening day. This refund is meant to help offset any costs you may incur as a head coach.

For the safety and protection of our youth players, all coaches must submit a coaching application, background screening, and be approved by the board of directors.
